AM: Spring field work is nearing the end
The sowing of spring barley, oats, seed peas and sugar beets was practically completed last week, with 97 percent of sunflower and 92 percent of maize already sown on 912,000 hectares, the Ministry of Agriculture (AM) told MTI.
Soybean sowing has also accelerated, with 71 percent readiness.
Sunflowers and corn plantings have hatched beautifully in many places after the rain. At the same time, weed control of sown sunflower fields is a big challenge for plant protection because basic treatments were visibly ineffective in most cases, they wrote. (MTI)
