AM: Hungarian-Georgian agricultural relations are reaching a new level
Cooperation in the field of agriculture is particularly important, as Hungary’s experience and innovative solutions can help Georgia in the field of sustainable development and the modernization of the agricultural economy – emphasized István Nagy, Minister of Agriculture on Wednesday, during his meeting with Davit Szongulashvili, Minister of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia, in Budapest, according to a statement from the Ministry of Agriculture (AM) on Wednesday.

The ministers held bilateral talks on Wednesday on the development of agricultural relations between the two countries, as well as on the signing of a new declaration of intent for cooperation. The talks took place in the Carmelite Monastery as part of the two-day Hungarian-Georgian government summit – they wrote. It was explained that the ministers also signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between Hungary and Georgia, which concerns, among other things, designations of origin and geographical indications, Hungaricums, sustainable forestry, hunting and water management, as well as scientific research, state support programs and the promotion of Georgian students’ studies in Hungary. According to the statement, István Nagy emphasized that trade and investment relations between the two countries have also strengthened, especially in the fields of agricultural products, winemaking, and arable and horticultural production. Joint projects and exchange of experience open up beneficial opportunities for both countries, contributing to the further development of bilateral relations.
