AM: programs from the depths of the earth to the starry sky in the Balaton highlands
The Balaton Upland National Park is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its establishment, which was created in 1997 from the merger of former landscape protection districts on the northern shore of Lake Balaton from the Tihany Peninsula to Kis-Balaton, the Ministry of Agriculture (AM) said in a statement on Friday.

The Balaton Highlands National Park is a quarter of a century old
It was pointed out that Kis-Balaton is also protected by the Ramsar Convention for the international protection of wetlands. The Tihany Peninsula – in recognition of its outstanding geological values and the nature conservation work taking place in the area – became a European Diploma area in 2003. (MTI)
