Prevention plays a key role in curbing the development and spread of animal diseases, and in addition to protecting livestock, it also contributes to avoiding economic damage. To this end, a call for applications with an increased amount within the framework of the Common Agricultural Policy is now available, which provides support for large pig, poultry or cattle farms – informed József Viski, State Secretary responsible for agricultural and rural development support at the Ministry of Agriculture, in the announcement.
According to the State Secretary, applications for support can be submitted for the call for applications from May 26, 2025, for a 4-year commitment period, in relation to 3 target areas.
The call can be used to carry out sampling and resistance testing, to review the developed antibiotic use reduction plan every six months and to apply the electronic data collection system, the amount of which – if all three target areas are jointly undertaken and adhered to – amounts to approximately 3,100 euros per farm per year.
The farmers who receive the support have a four-year period to implement the undertaken operations
József Viski also drew attention to the fact that the increase in specific support amounts also affects the call for applications entitled “Compensation payment for combating antimicrobial resistance” announced in 2024, so from the farming year starting on May 1, 2025, the support amount for sampling and resistance testing will be the same as the support amount for the same purpose in the call for applications just published – they wrote in the announcement. Those affected have the opportunity to submit support applications from May 26, 2025 to June 27, 2025.
