AM: consumers can already find out about product recalls in the newsletter
In order to inform the population even faster and more directly, and thus to protect them more effectively, the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) will from now on also share information about products recalled from customers in the form of a newsletter – the Ministry of Agriculture (AM) announced in a statement on Friday, according to the state secretary responsible for the food industry and trade policy.
Márton Nobilis reminded that the protection of the interests of the Hungarian people is extremely important for both the government and the AM. Nébih is one of the strongest consumer protection organizations and one of the most trusted by the population.
Since March 2019, the agency has been publishing product recalls in the food chain on the website https://portal.nebih.gov.hu/termekvisszhivas. The searchable database includes recalls from customers indicated by businesses, as well as cases received via the rapid alert system for food and feed safety, i.e. RASFF, they wrote.
