AM: damage compensation can be claimed for drought damage

A statement by the Minister of Agriculture under the Drought Mitigation Scheme states that this year there was drought throughout the country, allowing affected farmers to receive compensation wherever they meet other conditions – the Ministry of Agriculture told MTI on Wednesday.

According to the Ministry, compensation for drought can only be paid if and when the Minister issues a statement on the drought in the area by 31 October of the current year. (MTI)
