AM: CAP reform talks in Brussels have turned to the finish line
The aim of the German Presidency of the Council is for the Member States to adopt the Council’s position on the new rules of the common agricultural policy in October. In preparation for the agreement, EU agriculture ministers discussed the main remaining contentious issues at their meeting in Brussels on 21 September, the Ministry of Agriculture (MoD) informed MTI on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the Minister of Agriculture Nagy István, who leads the Hungarian delegation, emphasized after the meeting that the new CAP must meet three basic requirements: a sufficiently ambitious budget, appropriate policy instruments and simple rules that can be implemented in practice.
