Oszkár Ökrös said that new paths have also opened up in agricultural higher education. On May 15, the University of Debrecen and South Dakota State University signed an agreement in Debrecen that will enable the launch of the first dual (American-Hungarian) degree agricultural engineering program in Hungary and Europe. He added that it is hoped that a new cooperation agreement will be signed on May 30 between the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Perdue University and the Hungarian University of Veterinary Medicine. Hungarian veterinary medicine has long roots, which is why it is of particular importance for Hungary that the diploma obtained here is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association. The Deputy Secretary of State and the Louisiana Secretary of State agreed that both countries need well-trained, internationally experienced agricultural and animal health professionals, which is why it is gratifying that more and more agreements are being reached between Hungary and the United States, they wrote. According to the statement, the Deputy Secretary of State emphasized that a stable trade relationship between the United States of America and the European Union is crucial, and Hungary can be an effective partner for the European market, especially in the automotive industry, given its geographical position.

Hungary’s competitiveness is well illustrated by the fact that 90.5 percent of the automotive products produced here are exported

There have already been several negotiations with North America’s largest agricultural machinery manufacturer about the possible establishment of a factory in Hungary. Oszkár Ökrös invited the American delegation to the National Agricultural and Food Industry Exhibition and Fair (OMÉK) to be held in September. The Indiana State Secretary assured the Deputy Secretary of State of his support, and according to the statement, he will contact the state’s agricultural enterprises and organizations so that they can also appear at the exhibition. As Diego Morales put it: “I want to be a bridge between the United States, including the State of Indiana, and Hungary,” and he saw the OMÉK as a great opportunity for Indiana products and services to reach hundreds of thousands of people, they added.
