AM State Secretary: next week, the melon season starts in the stores
The melon season is about to begin, starting from the end of next week, this year’s crop can be in stores in increasing quantities – announced the Secretary of State for Food Industry and Trade Policy of the Ministry of Agriculture (AM) at a press conference on Thursday in Budapest.
On the occasion of the announcement, Márton Nobilis emphasized that the 750 billion HUF grant for the development of the food industry will improve the efficiency of production in the coming years. The Ministry of Agriculture is open to all initiatives that can help farmers, large companies and commercial chains can also contribute to development, he added.
According to the chairman of the management board of Lidl Hungary, this year’s melons promise to be excellent, the first shipments from Hungarian producers can enter the warehouses on June 21, and from July they can also be sent abroad.
