The pig sector is an important strategic area, so the future goal is to further develop the sector to play a key role in the development of Hungarian agriculture and food industry, in expanding export markets, job creation and local economic development – the secretary of state of AM said during a visit at the Városföldi Agrárgazdaság Zrt.

Erdős Norbert responsible for food chain supervision explained that by the end of March, a total of 142 applications had been positively assessed in the tender for the development of livestock farms within the framework of the Rural Development Program in an amount of 69 billion HUF, but an additional decision of around 200 billion HUF could be made. He added that a call for tenders with a budget of 30 billion HUF opens in April for smaller livestock farms. (MTI)
