AM: The government is committed to safeguarding agricultural subsidies
The Hungarian government is committed to maintaining EU subsidies for agriculture and transitional national subsidies after 2020 – the Deputy Minister of State said at the Jubilee Conference of the National Association of Hungarian Tobacco Producers (Madosz) in Nyíregyháza on Friday.
Tarpataki Tamás reminded in his presentation that the government introduced new sectoral grants with the withdrawal of EU restructuring aid in favor of tobacco farmers in 2014. Transitional national support and de minimis, ie small-scale agricultural support, have helped maintain agricultural employment in the disadvantaged Northeast Hungarian region. (MTI)
