World Sleep Day: Hungarians are increasingly consciously seeking the secret to restful sleep
Quality sleep is no longer a luxury, but a basic requirement for everyday well-being. On the occasion of World Sleep Day, JYSK, with its Scandinavian roots, draws attention to the fact that a restful night’s sleep depends on many factors – from the right mattress and pillow to the temperature of the bedroom. According to JYSK’s 2025 purchase data, Hungarians are increasingly conscious of improving their sleep comfort.
Sleeping comfort is in focus
According to JYSK’s purchasing data, the demand for mattresses, duvets and pillows was outstanding in 2025. Among mattresses, foam solutions proved to be particularly popular among customers. One of the company’s products has also received professional recognition: the OSELVA foam mattress has not only become one of the most sought-after products among customers: the expert jury of the Hungarian Sleep Association chose this model as the Sleep-Friendly Product of the Year in 2023. The organization – which was founded in 2018 with the aim of supporting the spread of the quality regeneration approach in Hungary through authentic sleep education and the operation of a sleep-friendly certification system – also recognized the company’s efforts: JYSK Hungary won the Sleep-Friendly Company Award in 2023, which was awarded for its efforts to improve sleep quality, conscious education and product range that supports restful sleep.
3 sleep trends In 2025
Based on JYSK’s sales data, several trends emerge that clearly show how Hungarians’ sleeping habits are changing.
The demand for ergonomic pillows is increasing
In addition to classic pillows, more and more people are looking for specially designed, ergonomic models that help provide proper support for the neck and spine.
Seasonal, cooler duvets are becoming increasingly popular
In the warmer months, there is an increasing interest in lighter, natural material duvets that provide a more comfortable sleeping environment.
Hungarians prefer easy-to-use, good-value sleep products
Purchase data shows that many people choose sleep products that are both practical, easy to clean and affordable.
JYSK: Scandinavian sleep expert
JYSK has been developing sleep comfort for more than 45 years and is now one of the leading players in the sleep products market across Europe. The company’s goal is to provide customers with not only products, but also real professional help for a restful sleep. To this end, in 2018, it launched its internal training program called the Sleep Academy, within the framework of which store employees receive special training in the field of sleep-related products and solutions.
Every JYSK store has a mattress studio where customers can try out different mattresses and sleep accessories, while qualified employees help them find the most suitable one.
