A general decrease characterizes the producer price of slaughter pigs
According to AKI PÁIR data, the producer price of domestically produced slaughter pigs, excluding VAT and transport costs, was 772 forints/kilogram of carcass warm weight in December 2024, a 10 percent decrease compared to the average price a year earlier.

In the European Union, the slaughterhouse entry price of pigs belonging to the “E” commercial class was 1.93 euros/kilogram of carcass cold weight in December 2024, a 9 percent decrease in one year. The pork prices of companies and slaughterhouses that are decisive for the EU pig market in the 3rd week of 2025 were on average 14.5 percent lower than the average price of the same week of the previous year.
