Giga-state investments at Lake Balaton – framework program until 2035 launched
The government has published its new state construction investment program until 2035, which includes a budget of more than 9,500 billion forints. The draft decree lists in detail the projects starting and ending in 2025 and 2026, including several developments that directly affect the Balaton region – writes Infostart.
Investments of the future in a unified framework
The new feature of the document submitted for public consultation by the Ministry of Construction and Transport is that it does not contain the projects themselves – most of them were already known from previous strategies and preparations – but that for the first time they have been organized into a unified, sector-based framework program that looks ahead to 2035.
A wide range of developments in Lake Balaton
In the Balaton region, transport infrastructure, tourism, public services, education, and settlement development also play an important role. hirbalaton.hu has collected investments related to the region, including transport, environmental, educational and tourism projects.
Key transport and infrastructure developments:
Modernisation of several sections of the main road 71, with roundabouts in Balatonfüred and Keszthely, a new bypass and parallel cycle paths.
Construction of the Siófok bypass and development of road connections between Balatonfüred and Keszthely.
Renovation of railway stations and stops on the north and south banks, separately in the Badacsony area.
Construction of several sections of the Budapest-Balaton cycle path and the entire Balatoni Bringakör, including the sections between Balatonfűzfő–Tihany, Gyenesdiás–Szigliget and Balatonboglár–Fonyód.
