Croatian hotels are waiting for state intervention due to higher energy prices
Croatian hotels are expected to see revenue growth this year, but their costs will also be significantly higher, which slows investment, so they expect government intervention, the Croatian Tourist Board (HUT) said in a press conference on Monday.
“In order to mitigate the impact of rising prices, we expect the government, as in other EU countries, to make appropriate decisions, especially on electricity,” said Veljko Ostojic, Director of HUT, adding, in particular, that Croatian Electric Works (HEP) provides 70 percent of the country’s energy supply from domestic sources.
