Aldi assortment tailored to Hungarians
1,085 items have been recorded by Nielsen in the Debrecen Aldi store. The widest assortment of products is that of groceries, with 285 items. The price of the few branded products sold is generally the same as in hyper markets. The prices of Aldi private labels are also similar to the prices of other PL products. However, it is a local speciality that the second largest category in Hungarian Aldi is that of body care products, with 121 items. These are almost exclusively private labels. Average Austrians visit hyper or supermarkets 18 times per month and discount stores on 6 occasions. This makes them the European champions regarding the frequency of shopping. However, the disadvantage of the high concentration of large stores is that loyalty is low among Austrian consumers.
