ALDI TRAVEL: the number of bookings reached the pre-Covid level in six months this year
Many passengers chose this year’s 5-year ALDI TRAVEL during the first half of 2022: in 2022, more reservations were received in six months than in one year in the pre-Covid period. The order of the most popular destinations has also changed, this year most people travel to Croatia. The money-back guarantee is also popular, already 90% of travelers use this extra service when booking their vacation.
In the first half of the year, ALDI TRAVEL sold more trips and accommodation than ever before. During the first six months of 2022, more people chose the service provider than in the entire year of 2019. The order of the most popular destinations among Hungarian passengers has also changed. Instead of Austria, the former leader, most people now travel to Croatia, with 37% of passengers vacationing here, while our western neighbor came in second place with 31%. Italy, which was repressed during the Covid period, is proving to be popular again, the third most passengers, 11%, choose Italy as the scene of their vacation. In fourth place are domestic roads and accommodation. The Middle East is also attractive, and many people travel to Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, with a proportionally higher number of people traveling to each country than, for example, to neighboring Slovenia.
“This September, it will be five years since we launched ALDI UTAZÁS, which provides our characteristic high-quality service at a low price. Tens of thousands of Hungarian travelers have already chosen the trips and accommodations provided by the Austrian Eurotours, and the number of reservations in the first six months of 2022 was outstanding, as ALDI TRAVEL sold more trips and accommodations in half a year than in the entire year of 2019.
– said Bernhard Haider, national managing director of ALDI Magyarország Élélmiszer Bt.
