Aldi: cuts prices on hundreds of food items, clothes will be available for 5 forints
Aldi Hungary is permanently reducing the prices of more than 200 food products, while between 11–17 September nearly all clothing and footwear items will be on a daily discount schedule – with the final day offering each piece for just HUF 5.
According to the company’s announcement, the price cuts cover bakery products, fresh meat, cheese, vegetables, fruit and fish, with discounts reaching 20–30 percent in some categories. Aldi aims to ease the burden on shoppers, especially lower-income households, pensioners and those in need. One element of this effort is a coupon offered with the pensioner food voucher, granting HUF 1,000 credit after spending HUF 8,000.
From 11 September the clothing campaign begins, with daily reductions: HUF 1,000 on the first day, then 800, 600, 400, 200 and 100, before dropping to only HUF 5 on 17 September. The promotion runs while stocks last.
The retailer has also indicated it will narrow its non-food range in the future, dedicating more space to food categories.
