Low producer prices in agriculture
After two years of dynamic growth, the agricultural producer prices decreased with 3 percent in 2008 states the most recent analysis of Kopint-Tárki and Agri-Europe ltd.
Producer prices in 2006 incereased with 10.6 percent and 22.2 percent in 2007. Last year was characterized by a moderate decline, then after months of fall in prices, the sectoral producer price level in February had been 27.4 percent below last year’s price. Most of the arable crop prices are essentially back to the prices before the price explosion, and maize prices are lower. However the price of live animals and animal products, moved against this trend. In the last two years has also increased significantly. The only exception is the milk. A liter in February 2007 was 68 HUF and in this February 65 HUF.
