Auchan acquires Galerias Primero

French privately owned retailer's Spanish unit Sabeco S.A. has agreed to acquire supermarket chain Galerias Primero from Group Nozar and Caja Inmaculada (CAI).

 The two companies, which are a
construction company and a savings bank respectively, hold 60% and
40% stakes in Galerías Primero. Financial details were not
disclosed. Galerias Primero owns 81 supermarkets and employs 1,600
staff, Auchan said. Sabeco operates 127 supermarkets in Spain.
