The general perception of ice creams in Hungary is that they are not very healthy. However, according to research conducted by Algida in Hungary, ice cream consumption does not have to be given up in order to maintain a balanced diet. It is the objective of our Vitality Program to inform consumers that ice cream can be included in a balanced diet, since it is made from natural ingredients like milk, fruit, chocolate. Algida is a leader in the development of vitality products which can form part of a long term, balanced diet. EUR 50 million is spent annually on research and development of ice creams. Approximately 40 per cent of this budget is devoted to products which belong to the vitality product line. Products for children do not contain any artificial colouring or aromas, and the quality of milk and fruits is also subject to strict monitoring. The sugar content of Algida products is also continuously being reduced, while the vitamin and mineral content is kept high.
