Companies violating access rights could face fines of up to $20 million
Under the GDPR, individuals can ask companies for information about the processing of their personal data. In Hungary, companies should also take particular care to ensure that the right of access is properly respected. The infringement entails severe penalties, and there is already a precedent for a HUF 20 million data protection fine, the international law firm Baker McKenzie points out.
