The damage of maize growers may be up to 80-100 billion HUF
The extremely hot weather of the recent days and the subsequent storms caused damages up to 80-100 billion HUF to the maize growers – the President of the National Association of Grain Producers (GOSZ) told MTI on Tuesday.
Vancsura József told that due to the weather conditions of the last few days, this year's corn crop will be at least 2 million tonnes lower, compared to the initial estimate. It is expected that 6 million tonnes of corn will be transported to the granaries. However, a more accurate forecast about the quantity can be expected only after the new harvest estimate. (MTI)
