In 2025, special attention will be paid to accessibility at all venues of the St. Stephen’s Day event series, so that visitors, including people with disabilities and those with reduced mobility, can enjoy the festive events without interruption.

As every year, during this year’s celebration series, the organizers of St. Stephen’s Day tried to design the venues so that they are accessible to as many people as possible, and everyone can find the assistance services that allow them to enjoy the event just like anyone else. In addition to barrier-free toilets, wheelchair-accessible venues, and dedicated fireworks viewing areas, those affected can also find other solutions.

In Retro Tabán, which can be reached from Döbrentei Square by low-floor tram and bus, a separate stand will be set up for people with reduced mobility so that they can enjoy the concerts comfortably and without interruption. The entire area of the Kultúrkavalkád on Szabadság Square is barrier-free, as is the Street of Hungarian Flavors in and around the Várkert Bazaar.

At the Crafts Festival in the Buda Castle district, the Murad and Gránit elevators will help you get to the venue. Public transport is provided by buses 16 and 16A, which stop near the Vienna Gate and Dísz Square. The Family Experience Island on Margaret Island is barrier-free from both bridges.

At the Csárda Festival on Vörösmarty Square, the stage and catering area are easily accessible for wheelchair users. On Vigadó Square, the stage program of Vigadó Piano can be enjoyed perfectly while sitting. In the Philosophers’ Garden, in the case of Panorama Classical, and at the Szabadrét Festival on Erzsébet Square, the picnic area is completely barrier-free. The closed and open program parts of the Creative Festival taking place on Millenáris are also accessible.

The entire route of the Varázsliget festival in the city park is wheelchair accessible, including military programs, film screenings, and performances at Vajdahunyad Castle. At other locations in the event series, such as the clean-up at Kossuth Lajos Square, the air parade, the open parliament tour, and the fireworks, designated viewing areas and support staff will also be available. Disabled visitors will also be able to access the Árpád Tóth Promenade and the performances of The Path of Heroes.
