Shower gels and deodorants are the most popular in gift packages
Christmas gift packages with body care and cosmetic products were sold in the value of HUF 3 billion in the last Christmas period. It is noteworthy though that sales were 6 percent lower than a year earlier. 55 percent of sales are gift packages for women. HUF 800 million worth of shower gels and deodorants were put in packages. It is interesting that from these products 40 times more were sold in November-December than in September-October. Volume sales remained stable at 2 million packages, from which 67 percent cost less than HUF 1,530; from volume sales 42 percent of sales were realised by gift packages cheaper than HUF 1,160. Retail channels: in terms of value, drugstores sold 9 percent less from one year to another. Hypermarkets’ value share of the market was 54 percent, followed by drugstores with 38 percent, 401-2,500 m² units had 4 percent, just like stores smaller than 400 m².
