AI fever in Hungary: this is how domestic companies are using artificial intelligence

The Forum aims, among other things, to support the development of the domestic innovation ecosystem, to present the business benefits of artificial intelligence and especially generative AI, and to assist in the digitalization of business areas with a practical approach. The current survey was also created to support these goals. The Forum is chaired by Márton Suppan, founder and CEO of Peak, and its honorary co-chair is László Palkovics, Hungary’s government commissioner for artificial intelligence.

Based on the responses, the Hungarian business sector has already moved beyond the experimentation stage: 89 percent use boxed GenAI tools (ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini), and more than half of those surveyed have already started their own AI development. Most solutions support the areas of document management, knowledge management and marketing – in other words, artificial intelligence has now become a concrete tool that helps with daily operations.

69% of companies plan to increase their AI spending in 2026, and more and more companies are working on their own AI strategy, internal regulations and training. Although preparations for the EU AI Act are still in their early stages for many, it is certain that artificial intelligence has become a strategic issue at the management level as well: more than half of the respondents were C-level managers. Based on the results of the survey, JVSZ will present the best domestic AI practices in the form of in-depth interviews and case studies in the future.
