According to the business, the move aims to assist shoppers with “choice overload”, offering personalised recommendations based on their interactions, Grocery Gazette reports.
Just Eat’s AI assistant – which was introduced today (27 January) – has conversational abilities with a chat function and acts as a “delivery concierge”.
The UK will be the first country to have the feature, with an international rollout planned for later in 2026.
The AI assistant will streamline the checkout process and the feature can process precise and ambiguous requests in dozens of languages.
Mert Öztekin, CEO of Just Eat Takeaway said: “We are always innovating and continually focused on leveraging technology to improve the ordering journey for our millions of customers.
“This custom-built conversational assistant represents a major step forward, making our service more intuitive and accessible.”
The new feature has a blended interaction model which does not rely solely on tapping and scrolling, which makes the ordering experience easier for users with limited mobility or visual impairments.
