According to the analysis, in the second half of last week, there was hardly any rain in the already very dry central part of the country and in most of Transdanubia, while in the northwest, north and eastern regions 10-30 millimeters fell in several places, but in some places more than 40 millimeters of precipitation occurred. In the past 30 days, not even 10 millimeters of rain fell in a large area in the Danube-Tisza region and in the eastern part of Transdanubia, and the 30-day precipitation total was 20-55 millimeters below the multi-year average almost nationwide. The agricultural drought is still severe or severe in most parts of the country, the most serious situation is in the central areas, while in the north and in some places on the eastern border, the drought has eased significantly, and in many places it has even ended – the report said. The temperature has dropped significantly since last Thursday and was only 20-23 degrees Celsius on Sunday, and on Monday morning the temperature dropped to between 6-11 degrees Celsius in the morning hours, and in the frosty corners the air cooled to below 5 degrees. Warming began again on Tuesday, and peak values around 30 degrees were again typical on Wednesday – they recalled.

Summer crops have been extremely affected by the lack of precipitation

The stands are underdeveloped in many places, their green mass is much less than usual at this time of year, and the plants have already begun to dry out in many places. In accordance with the distribution of precipitation, there are large regional differences in unirrigated fields, a very poor harvest is expected in a large area in the central part of the country, for example, corn has already been silaged in many places. However, there are regions – mainly in the Great Plain and the northeast – where the prospects are still acceptable, the already ripening corn crops have remained beautiful green for a long time and the cobs are also showing well, while quite nice plates can be seen on the sunflower – they wrote.

According to the forecast, variable, rainy weather is expected in the coming days

From Friday to Sunday evening, rain, showers, thunderstorms can be expected in many places, and precipitation is expected again on Tuesday. Overall, precipitation exceeding 10-20 millimeters may fall in a large area until the middle of next week, which may reduce the agricultural drought. Temperatures will drop several degrees by the end of the week, with highs of 24 to 30 degrees expected on Sunday.
