The Madarasi birspálinka is protected in the EU
With a decree published by the European Commission on Tuesday, “Madarasi birspálinka” (Madarasi quince pálinka) has become a protected name in the EU. This increased the number of Hungarian pálinka names protected by the EU to twelve, the Ministry of Agriculture (AM) told MTI on Wednesday.

The Madarasi quince pálinka receives EU protection
The Madarasi quince pálinka can be produced in commercial pálinka distilleries in Bács-Kiskun county, only from quince from this area. The quince, the raw material for Madarasi quince pálinka, is provided with an excellent environment by a sun-rich climate and loose, easily warming sandy soil. (MTI)
