Ministry of Agriculture: the dairy cattle sector received new help
The extension of the animal welfare support for the dairy cattle sector has been successfully completed, the Ministry of Agriculture announced in its statement on Friday.

Back in 2016, the animal welfare support form related to the keeping of dairy cattle was launched, which provides funds for dairy farms in exchange for the higher expenses associated with compliance with higher animal welfare standards. Given the transitional period of the EU agricultural support system, the Ministry of Agriculture has decided to extend it again, thanks to which the support is available to those concerned until April 30, 2023. And for those producers who used the possibility of the previous extension already in 2022 and remained in the support program, almost HUF 11.5 billion was awarded in the past few days.
The source is a major contribution to easing the burdens of farmers operating in the dairy sector, as meeting the strict hygiene and feeding regulations imposes significant additional costs on them.
