Ministry of Agriculture: another 5 billion forints in support for the development of processing plants
The Ministry of Agriculture is committed to supporting domestic enterprises producing quality food. Thanks to the call for applications for the development of processing plants, implemented within the framework of the Common Agricultural Policy and co-financed by the European Union, 94 investment projects received a total of 5.1 billion forints in non-refundable support. With the current decisions, a decision has been made to award more than 12.2 billion forints in support – the Ministry of Agriculture (AM) announced in its statement on Tuesday.

Through the investment support, many domestic small and medium-sized enterprises, from bakeries to vegetable processing, from pasta production to meat processing, can renew their production technology for processing agricultural products, modernize or expand their existing plants, renew their energy systems, and acquire new equipment and machinery – the ministry announced. Those affected could apply for 50 percent of the planned investment costs, but in some cases this could reach 70 percent. The winners can also request an advance payment of up to 25 percent of the support amount, but up to a maximum of 50 million forints, for the implementation of their projects, they added. The ministry’s statement also revealed that the evaluation of the applications already submitted will continue in the coming weeks.
