Ministry of Agriculture: Advisor of the Year Awards Announced
The winners of the 2025 Advisor of the Year Award have been announced. The aim of the competition, announced for the sixth time by the National Chamber of Agriculture and the Ministry of Agriculture, is to recognize outstanding advisory work serving the interests of those active in the agricultural sector, the Ministry of Agriculture (AM) announced on Monday.

The Advisor of the Year Award is a joint professional recognition of the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) and the Ministry of Agriculture. Among the candidates who submitted the application, the advisor who scored the most points, selected in the first round based on professional criteria, was interviewed by a professional panel consisting of representatives of the ministry, NAK and the National Agricultural Advisory Committee (NATaB). At the hearing, the experts personally presented their professional careers, their advisory activities and convinced the committee why they were the most suitable for the recognition. Based on the scoring and personal introduction, the committee selected the experts who were finally able to receive the award – the ministry announced.
The award ceremony took place on September 18, 2025, at the ceremonial opening of OMÉK
The awards were presented by István Nagy, Minister of Agriculture, István Jakab, Vice President of the Parliament, President of NATaB, and Zsolt Papp, President of the NAK. The 2025 Expert Advisor of the Year award was received by Dr. Péter Riczu, who applies 21st century agricultural technology at an outstanding level. Committed to lifelong learning and regenerative agriculture, Dr. Ferenc Paszternák received the Lifetime Achievement Award for the 2025 Forestry Consultant of the Year. Péter László received the special award for the 2025 Forestry Consultant of the Year for his commitment to sustainable forest management and outstanding professional work. Ilona Kaponyás received the special award of the Ministry of Agriculture for her outstanding consultancy work in knowledge transfer, the ministry announced.
