AM: the call for tenders supporting joining the quality system has been published

Between March 1 and August 31, agricultural producers can once again apply for support in connection with joining the European Union and national quality systems – the Ministry of Agriculture (AM) informed MTI on Saturday.

It was written that within the framework of the call, agricultural producers are supported who produce their products in accordance with the requirements of the various quality systems and have participated in the given system for a maximum of 5 years, or who now wish to join a quality system. The products conforming to the individual quality systems represent a higher quality than other, similar products conforming to the minimum requirements imposed by the legislation, the support provided by the call is intended to compensate for the resulting additional expenditure – they highlighted.

They added: such quality systems include protected names registered in the electronic register of the European Commission

Thus, the geographical indications of agricultural products and foodstuffs, spirits and wines (for example Hajós-Baja or Csopak wine, Szentes paprika, Alföldi camomile blossom, Kecskemét peach pálinka) and traditional special products (for example lumpy cottage cheese), and in addition national quality systems (High Quality Food) and various voluntary agricultural product certification systems.

It was noted that, compared to the call of the same name, which was closed last year, it is a novelty that those involved in organic production can now also submit an application for support. The total amount of non-refundable support that can be applied for can be a maximum HUF equivalent of 5,000 euros per producer for a period of 5 years.
