The Minister reminded that milk production is one of the most important sectors of Hungarian agriculture. In 2020 the annual production already exceeded 1.9 billion liters, and the export of dairy products reached 124 billion forints. The reduction of milk imports in recent years and the expansion of the domestic market have created a serious opportunity for the sector, so self-sufficiency in healthy and safe Hungarian milk and dairy products is slowly approaching 100 percent, he added.
