Ministry of Agriculture: Hungarian farmers can always count on the national government

András Tállai highlighted that no matter what challenges our country faces, Hungarian farmers have undertaken and continue to undertake the sacrificial work every day, as a result of which our food supply has been ensured. Thus helping to preserve our sovereignty and the survival of the Hungarian nation.

The government also stands by Hungarian farmers in the European Union. The reduction in agricultural subsidies included in the European Commission’s budget proposal for the next seven years, presented in July, is unacceptable. The government will do everything to ensure that Hungarian farmers receive the European Union funds they are entitled to – emphasized the Deputy Minister.

András Tállai called the Carpathian Basin Wheat Gathering Festival “Bread of Hungarians – 15 million grains of wheat” an event of outstanding importance for Hungarians both here and abroad. This program stems from the souls of farmers, and in addition to helping those in need, it also supports the preservation of traditions and the education and training of future generations – the deputy minister added. According to him, every participant in the program celebrates life by offering crops, volunteer work, or other support.

He thanked the domestic farmers, whose selfless work brought good results this year as well. The summer harvest in Hungary has been completed, and the yields and total harvest were favorable. The harvest results of summer cereals and rapeseed exceeded the average of the past five years in all cases. Thus, the country’s supply of summer-harvested grains is assured until the 2026 harvest – the deputy minister explained.
