Minister of Agriculture important to maintain the pathogen-free status of pig and poultry farms
It is important to preserve the pathogen-free status of the pig and poultry farms, therefore the Ministry of Agriculture announced a call for tenders to support epidemiological investments in the pig and poultry sector with a budget of 2 billion HUF – Nagy István, Minister of Agriculture told M1 news channel.
He added that while humans are at risk from the coronavirus, pigs are struggling with African swine fever and poultry with bird flu.
The aim of the tender is to raise the level of animal health in Hungarian farms and to implement investments that will help maintain pathogen-free conditions, he emphasized, adding that the spread of pathogens is planned to be prevented by setting up disinfection gates and mobile wave destroyers.
