Agrarian Chamber: average yield is expected this year
This year, average yield is expected, but the yield will drop appreciably compared to last year, as farmers are unlikely to repeat last year’s highs – Győrffy Balázs, president of the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) told Kossuth Radio.
He recalled that last year about 8 million tonnes of autumn and spring crops were harvested, 20 percent above the 5-year average.
In order to be able to compete in international markets, Hungary needs to continuously increase its output and strive for cost-effective production – he added. (MTI)
