African swine fever has been detected in Transcarpathia
A wild boar’s carcass – died in African swine fever (ASP) – was found at the beginning of the week at the Beregújfalu border crossing point in Beregszász. The pathogens of the disease have been identified in a Kiev veterinary laboratory – Transcarpathian news sites reported on Thursday.
According to the reports, the dead wild boar was discovered on Monday at the breeding ground of the Beregújfalu farm. The sample from the animal was sent to the veterinary laboratory of the Ukrainian capital, where the ASP virus was detected. The carcass was burned, a farm veterinary closure was introduced on the farm and in the neighborhood. In nearby settlements, swines are being tested. In this case, the district council of Beregszász (assembly) holds an extraordinary meeting on Thursday. (Varga Béla, MTI)
