The Fórum calls for VAT reduction on the basis of the study by Ernst&Young
According to a recent study published in Hungary, the large-scale VAT fraud in connection with basic food products paralyzes the industry and deprives the budget from a more than 128 billion HUF – roughly 500 million USD – annual revenue
The industry calls for government action, and the Fórum proposes the VAT (Value Added Tax) on basic foodstuffs to be reduced below 10 percent on the basis of the study of Ernst&Young.
In addition to this proposal, the Fórum believes that it is essential that the Hungarian government should carry out further strict actions against VAT frauds.
