NAV found untaxed cigarettes and brandy in the possession of a Bulgarian driver near Nagylak
The National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) reported to MTI on Tuesday that the employees of the NAV found cigarettes without Hungarian seal hidden in zip-lock bags and smuggled brandy in mineral water bottles in the car of a Bulgarian driver at the Nagylak border crossing.
It was written in the announcement that the driver stated that he was not transporting excise goods, but after seeing the ziplock bags and the large amount of soda bottles in the cargo compartment of the vehicle, the patrol decided to inspect the cargo.
The packaging of the chips appeared to be original, but some were heavier than usual, so the cashiers opened them. In puffed cornflakes bags, there were four packs of cigarettes with the Bulgarian seal, a total of 1,050 packs, the customs office announced.
