Hungarian SMEs have made suggestions for tax and administrative relief in a nationwide survey conducted by the business consulting firm Niveus, the National Association of Hungarian Vehicle Component Manufacturers (MAJOSZ) and the National Association of Construction Contractors (ÉVOSZ), they announced in a joint statement with MTI on Sunday.

The most common suggestions in the survey, conducted with the participation of 600 companies, include a temporary discount on social contribution tax when introducing new HR, financial or marketing jobs, launching a mentoring program to support financial awareness, digitalization and entering foreign markets, and reducing VAT financing burdens, for example by raising the VAT limit on cash flows, they said.

Companies also want to achieve a reduction in administration in the areas of home office and employee processes, simplifying tender systems with more flexible deadlines, and reducing banking and transaction costs.

According to the survey, companies would consider it necessary to reduce the number of contributions and taxes, to establish a support office where SMEs would receive all the information – related to legislation – that is necessary for the planned business, and they also proposed the abolition of the five thousand forint chamber contribution.

According to the statement, the companies’ proposals also include the elimination of the double registration obligation of construction companies with the chambers of commerce and industry in the spirit of deregulation, in such a way that only the “professional registration” remains, from the data of which the chambers of commerce and industry automatically carry out the general registration of companies with the chamber. In addition, SMEs also consider it necessary to simplify the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system.
