Nestlé uses data science and AI to identify climate-resilient coffee plants
Nestlé’s experts are exploring how advanced data science and AI can be leveraged to select and breed more climate-resilient plants in the face of the climate change that is threatening coffee production.

Although there are more than 120 coffee varieties worldwide, around 70% of global coffee production is from arabica, which is less tolerant of rising temperatures and more susceptible to disease than other coffee varieties such as robusta. Nestlé scientists are now looking for new, higher yielding arabica varieties that are more resistant to disease and drought. //
