The FruitVeB and the NAK proposes a reduction in VAT in case of vegetables and fruits
In addition to the meat industry, the Hungarian Fruit and Vegetable Interprofessional Organization (FruitVeB) and the National Association of Agricultural Economics (NAK) considers the reduction of VAT in the fruit and vegetable sector.
The two organizations sent their jointly drafted position to MTI on Monday. They support the reduction of VAT on basic foods to 5 percent. In their view, it is important to reduce the VAT in the fruit and vegetable sector as well, because currently the rate of black market is the highest an average, about 40 percent in this sector.
