The green energy market is expected to expand eightfold by 2050
The green energy market is expected to expand eightfold by 2050, and it is gratifying that Hungary is not a follower but a leader of the turnaround, said Government Commissioner László György at a press conference in Veszprém on Monday.
László György explained that in 2020, the green energy market in the world amounted to 1,300 billion dollars, which was 6 and a half times the Hungarian GDP at the time. By 2050, this market will expand to 10,300 billion dollars, i.e. eight times, and in this process Hungary will have great opportunities as a leader.
The green economy begins with the production of green energy, according to the objective stated in the Climate and Nature Protection Action Plan published in 2020, by 2030 Hungary will produce 90 percent of its electricity without the emission of carbon dioxide.
