In order to help passengers affected by the Middle Eastern airspace closure, Wizz Air is increasing its flights to Egypt, launching 10 flights per week between Budapest and Sharm el-Sheikh instead of 3 from Friday – the airline told MTI on Tuesday.

According to the announcement, Wizz Air is launching relief flights for its passengers who would have traveled to or from the Middle East region. The flights offer more options for passengers affected by the suspension of direct flights to and from Israel, as well as for connections between Israel and Europe.

Wizz Air is now adjusting its schedule in response to regional airspace restrictions introduced following the escalation of the security situation in the Middle East, as it has suspended flights to and from Israel, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia and Amman until at least March 7 as a precautionary measure.

It was emphasized that the airline is working closely with aviation authorities and airport partners to guarantee safe operating conditions. The airline continues to work to resume flights as soon as the safety situation allows.
