Walmart trials new technology to beat Amazon and Kroger
Walmart has been piloting a new technology called Alphabot. It is designed to enable quicker picking of online grocery orders at store level. The Alphabot system operates inside a 1,860m² warehouse-style space in Salem, using autonomous carts to retrieve grocery products ordered online. After it collects the products, Alphabot delivers them to an in-store workstation.
