Waitrose & Partners to stop using disposable plastic bags
From March 2019 Waitrose & Partners will stop using disposable plastic bags. They will be the first retailer in the UK to sell fruits and vegetables in compostable alternatives. With this move the company will cut 134 million plastic bags, the equivalent of 500 tons of plastic a year. Waitrose will also phase out the black plastic packaging of their private label products by 2019.
