Volvo received an order for 300 electric trucks from DSV
Volvo Trucks and global logistics company DSV have signed a cooperation agreement for 300 electric heavy-duty trucks. The deal is one of Volvo’s largest ever commercial orders for electric trucks. With the order, DSV has one of the largest electric heavy-duty truck fleets in Europe.
DSV, a global leader in transport and logistics, is moving fast towards a more sustainable future on roads and highways. Every day, thousands of trucks deliver goods to the company’s customers around the world, and in the coming years more and more will be powered by electric or renewable fuels.
DSV and its subcontractors have agreed with Volvo Trucks to integrate 300 zero-emission electric trucks across DSV’s European operations as part of the company’s plan to install 2,000 electric trucks in its fleet by 2030. With the order, DSV has one of the largest fleets of electric heavy goods vehicles in Europe.
The agreement also covers 500 Volvo trucks with highly fuel-efficient diesel and gas powertrains. All trucks are scheduled to be delivered between 2024 and 2026.
“I am very proud to deepen our cooperation with DSV. Collaboration and a commitment to real change are essential to making sustainable transport and large-scale carbon reductions a reality. This order is proof of their trust in our company and shows that emission-free transport is a viable solution here and now”
– said Roger Alm, president of Volvo Trucks.
