The VM pays out the sugar support, that was not paid out in 2006
The Ministry of Rural Development (VM) pays the 240 million HUF worth sugar support to the nearly 300 owners, who did not get the grant in 2006, due to the legislation s of that time – Világgazdaság informs.
In 2006 for farmers who transported the sugar beet via integrator, the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency in accordance with the valid legislations did not pay the support they claimed. The case, started by Uzonyi József also reached the European Court of Justice, where the decision favored him in 2010.
The Ministry of Rural Development have now decided: sugar support will be paid to all the farmers regardless of whether there is a final judgment. All concerned farmers will receive the amount with interest rate. (Világgazdaság, MTI)
