Food is the most expensive in Slovakia among the Visegrád countries
Among the Visegrad Group (Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland) the highest food prices can be found in Slovakia, although they still remain under the European Union (EU) average, with more than one-tenth – Poštová Banka’s analysis reveals.
According to the analysis sent to MTI on Friday, food prices are the lowest in Poland among the Visegrad countries (V4). Prices in Poland are 30 percent below the average of prices in Slovakia. In Hungary and in the Czech Republic, food prices are virtually on the same level on average, 11 percent lower than in Slovakia, where prices remain 13 percent below the EU average.
